Air duct cleaning in the Área Bancaria, Panama
The city’s banking center grew out of a 1970 law and now brings together headquarters and branches with strict security. Here is how access is requested and which zones stay outside the review.
Duct cleaning in the Área Bancaria is the camera inspection and cleaning of the inside of the air conditioning ducts of bank headquarters, branches, insurers and corporate towers in this financial center. It is agreed with each institution’s management and security department, and restricted zones are noted as not reviewed.
The Área Bancaria, a financial center born of a law
The Área Bancaria is the city’s banking center. The Bella Vista Junta Comunal places it in Campo Alegre, Obarrio and Marbella, where national and international bank and insurer headquarters were established after the 1970 banking law. That rule, Cabinet Decree 238 of July 2, 1970, was conceived, according to the Superintendency of Banks, to attract the physical presence of new international banks.
At the end of 2024 there were 62 institutions in the International Banking Center and 482 branches and agencies of general-license banks across the country, using preliminary figures. For ducts that means controlled-access offices and strict schedules, where the sensible approach is to force nothing: restricted zones are left out and the report notes them as not reviewed.

Frequently asked questions
Do you clean ducts in the Área Bancaria?
Yes. The Área Bancaria is served, and the service is provided by Limpieza de Ductos Panamá, a Climatiza service. Schedule and access are agreed with the institution’s management and security, or with the person in charge of each headquarters.
Can a bank ask for areas to be excluded from the report?
Yes. Restricted zones, such as vaults or security rooms, are not worked on, and the report lists them as not reviewed. That leaves a record of what was seen and what was left out by the bank’s decision.
Are all of an institution’s branches reviewed at once?
You can start with a pilot branch or with those that reported complaints, and then expand. The institution decides the order, and each branch receives its own report with photos so the bank can compare among them.
How does the Área Bancaria differ from Obarrio or Marbella?
They share territory, but here the focus is banking and its security protocols. The service is the same in all of them, what changes is how access is requested, which zones are excluded and who signs the authorization.
