Customer service at the front, offices that never stop at the back: how a bank branch’s ducts are reviewed
A branch has a public hall and back offices with different hours and access rules.
Duct cleaning in a bank or financial company is the camera inspection and cleaning of the ducts of each branch, scheduled by time slots and areas. That way the customer hall and back offices keep working, and restricted zones are marked as not reviewed.
What sets banks and finance companies apart
Facts that help decide in banks and finance companies
- In Panama: As of December 31, 2024 (preliminary figure) the national banking system had 482 branches and agencies, 152 state-owned and 330 private, and 40 general-license banks. The International Banking Center had 62 institutions. Branches numbered 506 in 2020. (INEC with Superintendency of Banks data, Table 1)
- Technical fact: The EPA and NIOSH guide for building managers recommends, for work inside an occupied building, blocking return registers so contaminants from the work area are not recirculated into adjoining areas. The source covers construction and remodeling, not duct cleaning, but it explains the logic of isolating the work zone while the public keeps coming in. (EPA and NIOSH, Building Air Quality, section 5)

Frequently asked questions
Is customer service interrupted?
It is scheduled outside customer hours or in zones separate from the hall, as management agrees, so customer service continues.
Can restricted areas be entered?

There is no fixed frequency. It makes sense to look when there are odors or moisture, after work in the branch, or when management asks.
